Keynote: µLED and µVCSEL Optical Interconnect Applications

This presentation contrasts traditional "narrow and fast" serial links with a "wide and slow" architecture for short-reach optical interconnects. By heterogeneous integrating Micro-LEDs and Micro-VCSEL, we enable massive parallelism that bypasses the thermal and power bottlenecks of high-speed serial modulation. This approach drastically reduces system power consumption and enhances transmission density while ensuring robust performance across wider temperature ranges—offering a scalable, energy-efficient pathway for next-generation data centers.
