Keynote: AI Innovation and Value Creation: Driving Future Manufacturing Excellence

9:15 am - 9:40 am

As artificial intelligence continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, its impact on the manufacturing sector is shifting from basic automation to profound value creation. This presentation, "AI Innovation and Value Creation: Driving Future Manufacturing Excellence," explores the strategic integration of AI within enterprise environments, highlighting the pathway to a collaborative symbiosis between human intelligence and machine capabilities to unlock extraordinary value.

At the heart of this transition is the strategic distinction between Generic AI and Domain-Specific AI. While generic large language models can elevate general productivity, the true competitive advantage lies in building Domain AI that combines deep industry expertise with the power of artificial intelligence. Aligned with this perspective, TSMC’s AI strategy focuses on value creation by deploying best-fit generic and domain-specific AI solutions. This approach enables us to meet immense growth demands, empower our workforce, and drive long-lasting organizational value.

In this talk, we will begin with a discussion on Enterprise AI and Value Creation, sharing practical examples based on TSMC’s experience. We will then introduce the concept of the "Digital Brain"—a continuous-learning AI ecosystem. By combining deep domain knowledge with specialized skills, AI is evolving from a mere tool into an "AI CoWorker" and "AI Team," fundamentally accelerating productivity in the modern era. We envision a future of collaborative symbiosis, where human expertise and autonomous AI systems co-evolve to redefine manufacturing excellence. Finally, we will discuss opportunities for the industry and academic communities to collaborate on the next frontier of smart manufacturing, including green manufacturing AI, AI-ready tools, and managed robotics.
