K.S. Pua was born in Sekinchan, Selangor, Malaysia. At 19, he moved to Taiwan to pursue higher education, and at 27 co-founded Phison Electronics. Known as the 'Father of the USB Pen Drive,' he transformed Phison from a startup into the world's largest independent NAND flash controller and storage solution provider, with a market cap exceeding NT$550 billion (approx. US$17.5B as of May 2026).
Phison's key innovations include the aiDAPTIV AI platform (enabling on-premises LLM deployment, adopted by 200+ organizations), the Pascari enterprise SSD brand, and numerous global firsts: world's first DRAM-less PCIe Gen5 SSD controller, first USB 4.0 single-chip storage controller, and the lunar data center powered by Pascari enterprise SSDs.
