Biography:

Dr. Mike (Sung-Ching) Hung joined ASE in 1998. During the past 26 years, he has served various functions, such as Research and Development, Package/Test/Design Engineering, Operation, Quality Assurance, Customer Relationship Management and Business Developments. Hung is now the Executive Vice President of ASE Kaohsiung, concurrently oversees Central Engineering, Business Unit of System-in-Package (SIP) and Quality Assurance. Simultaneously, he has been appointed as General Manager of ASE Nantou (a subsidiary of ASE Inc.) from 2011 to 2016. ​​

Hung obtained his Engineering Mechanics Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997. In 2011, he received the honor of Distinguished Alumni Award from National Sun Yat-Sen University (NSYSU). Hung first initiated and established the collaboration with NSYSU and NCKU by granting Research and Development projects, Scholarships and ASE Chair Professorships since 2012. And the programs gradually roll out to more than 10 universities in the South and cover Packaging Technology, CIM and Environmental Protection. Hung currently serves as a Board Director of the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA) since 2014.​​

In addition, Hung strongly believes “Healthy Habits, Healthy Career”. He dedicates his time supporting all Sports and Social Clubs in the company, especially, successfully promotes Dragon Boat Competitions and develops positive Sports team spirits and attitudes into work environment. Hung also devotes himself to marathon running, cycling and mountain hikes.
