Mr. Jaeyoung Shin, Vice President and Head of Asia, Samsung Ventures

Jaeyoung is Vice President and Head of Asia at Samsung Ventures. He has invested in Greater China region over the last 15 years, had a dozen of IPOs in the region and he is now heading Asia investment including Greater China, India, Japan and South East Asia. Prior to joining Samsung Venture in early 2010, he has worked at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) as a researcher in Fuel Cell Lab in Korea as well as worked as a R&D Staff of Fuel Cell Lab of Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany. He grew up in Seoul & Singapore and earned Master in mechanical engineering from Aachen University of Applied Science in Germany, and attended Tongji University in Shanghai, China for the same major prior to Germany.

The speaker, Jaeyoung, serves as Head of Asia at Samsung Ventures, where he has covered Greater China for more than 15 years, and recent few years, also covering Japan, and India. Drawing on an extensive network across the region, he will offer a practical, on-the-ground perspective on where deep-tech opportunities are emerging in Asia and how Samsung Ventures partners with founders beyond capital.
